Annual General Meeting & Safety Awards
About the AGM and Awards Ceremony
Every year, Construction Safety Nova Scotia celebrates the achievements of its member firms and reflects on the association’s accomplishments and priorities at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Awards Ceremony.
We invite all members to join us to approve new board members, share ideas on how we can positively impact safety in the construction sector, and connect with industry peers during our half-day AGM, with complimentary snacks and refreshments available throughout the event.

Keynote Spotlight (Howatt HR Presentation)
Denise Waligora from Crisis Ready Workplace (in partnership with Howatt HR), featured Keynote Speaker
Denise Waligora B.S.
Chief Learning Officer
Crisis Ready Workplace
Denise Waligora is a clinical mental health professional and national training leader with over 30 years of experience across crisis response, therapeutic care, justice-involved case management, and large-scale program delivery.
As the former Training and Delivery Specialist at the Mental Health Commissions of Canada, she supported more than 1200 facilitators, developed a national curriculum, and advanced mental health literacy across sectors. She now designs certification programs, workshops, and coaching that prepare workplaces for higher-stakes moments and strengthens psychological safety at every level.
Her work is grounded in early clinical experience supporting individuals in crisis and navigating complex trauma, shaping a warm and practical approach focused on helping people feel safe, supported, and able to act when it matters most.
In this keynote, Denise will explore how organizations can recognize early signs of distress, respond effectively under pressure, and build psychologically safe workplaces that improve both well-being and operational readiness.
