Certificate of Recognition (COR) Instrument

Construction Safety Nova Scotia provides a Certificate of Recognition (COR) Instrument for companies going through the COR process. Your company must complete this evaluation and return it to Construction Safety Nova Scotia for review. Firms recertifying receive one copy free on their renewal date. Classification(s) Year COR Requirements
Owner/Operator Year 1 Must complete the COR Evaluation Instrument and submit it to Construction Safety Nova Scotia for review along with your safety manual and company profile. Must be submitted within 120 days from the date of the Owner/Operator - Small Business course.
Each Year Following Must complete the COR Evaluation Instrument and submit to Construction Safety Nova Scotia for review.
Small Business  Year 1 Must complete the COR Evaluation Instrument and submit it to Construction Safety Nova Scotia for review along with your safety manual and company profile. Must be submitted within 120 days from the date of the Owner/Operator - Small Business course.
Each Year Following Must complete the COR Evaluation Instrument and submit to Construction Safety Nova Scotia for review.

Intermediate / Standard / Special Considerations
Year 1 Submit the completed COR Evaluation Instrument and a copy of the company safety manual to Construction Safety Nova Scotia for review. Must be submitted within one year of the Principles of Loss Control course. At this point, your company is considered "pending." A Construction Safety Nova Scotia safety advisor will subsequently visit your company to complete an external audit.
Years 2 & 3 Must complete the COR Evaluation Instrument and submit it to Construction Safety Nova Scotia for review.
Year 4 The process repeats itself with a full evaluation by a Construction Safety Nova Scotia safety advisor.

Construction Safety Nova Scotia performs random spot evaluations to ensure the integrity of the process.

Construction Safety Nova Scotia is a not-for-profit association and the fees for COR services are based on actual delivery costs. The current revisions to the fee schedule are a result of the continued increase in costs associated with providing this service.
