Is Construction Safety Nova Scotia a government department or part of the Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia?

Answer:

No, Construction Safety Nova Scotia is an independent, not-for-profit association that is funded by the Nova Scotia construction industry.

Question:

If I see a construction worker working unsafely, can I report it to you?

Answer:

Construction Safety Nova Scotia is not a regulatory or enforcement agency. We do not inspect construction sites for unsafe working conditions or violations of occupational health and safety legislation. Firms can call on us for advice and expertise in health and safety. Question:

Do you provide training throughout Nova Scotia?

Answer:

Our training courses and Certificate of Recognition (COR) services are available across Nova Scotia if requested. Our training calendar includes the locations of each of our courses.

Do you provide services outside the construction industry?

Answer:

Workplace safety is a universal responsibility. While our services cater mainly to the construction industry, training and resources are available for any company that is interested in building a safety program. Do you only provide safety training and COR Evaluations?

Answer:

We use any interventions at our disposal to help promote awareness of safety issues. These include special events, newsletters, publications, our website, consulting, partnerships and information sessions. We welcome feedback and suggestions - you can contact us directly or communicate with us online.
